It's different, in a very good way.
Q) How far can I go on a charge?
This is the most asked question regarding electric vehicles. Tesla has the greatest range of any electric vehicle on the market today. Our Model S sedans are rated at 426km per charge- more than enough for most day trips in the valley. Should you need to supercharge or top up, the Okanagan valley has plenty of options for you. Check them out here.
Q) How long does it take to charge up?
A) The fastest way to charge a Tesla is at a Tesla Supercharger station. These stations are placed in strategic locations all over North America and allow you to rapidly charge your battery and get back on the road to your destination. You can go from having 5% battery remaining to a 75% charge in about 30 minutes at a Supercharger. Public charging stations are a great place to grab a charge when you are stopped but typically take MUCH longer to top up. These are usually found at hotels, wineries, restaurants and other public facilities. See below for more details.
Q) What about insurance?
A) The majority of optional insurance policies on the market (credit card, ICBC etc) will NOT cover luxury vehicle rentals. You can phone your insurance provider to supplement your own insurance to cover a luxury vehicle, or Power Trips offers an optional partial damage waiver for a minimal fee to make sure you are completely protected. All renters MUST be 25 years of age or older and hold a valid drivers license. Note: Proof of supplementary insurance coverage is required if declining the partial damage waiver.
Q) Where can I charge my Tesla in the Okanagan Valley?
A) The Okanagan Valley has a very high concentration of electric vehicle charging stations and you are provided with adapters to take advantage of all of them. The best locations to charge are at Tesla destination charging locations that are located at numerous hotels, restaurants and other businesses throughout the area. For the fastest charge out there, the Tesla Supercharger network is available to you free of charge and will get you back on the road in no time. Charging locations can be found here or by selecting from the navigation menu on the touchscreen in the car. PlugShare is a great free mobile App we use that shows even more charging locations.
Q) Can my pet ride in the car with me?
Sorry- furry friends are not allowed in our Tesla's. Any dirt or damage caused by a pet in the vehicle will be billed to you accordingly.
Q) What if I want to keep the car longer than initially booked?
You are required to return the vehicle at the date and time specified in your rental agreement unless prior arrangements have been made and confirmed by Power Trips staff. Late fees apply for late returns. Of course, we will accommodate your schedule whenever we can, but confirmation and an updated rental agreement are required from Power Trips to keep the vehicle longer.
Q) Do I need to bring the car back fully charged?
Q) Do you offer gift certificates?
We do! CLICK HERE to purchase online or give us a call to purchase a gift for that someone special. You can select any amount that can be used towards any rental. The lucky recipient can choose their own dates etc.
